Work Description / Responsibilities

  • Designed, scripted, and implemented multiple gameplay systems and FPS mechanics utilizing Unreal Engine 4.26
     

    • “Grav Gun” weapon, Physics, Object Interaction/Manipulation, and Destructible-Mesh systems, allowing Players to interact, pick up, throw, launch, and destroy objects in the environment.
       

    • Player Upgrades and Environmental-Traversal Abilities (Double-Jump, Dash, Grappling Hook, Hookshot, Stasis, and Time Dilation), to create interesting Level progression and puzzles, and a sense of Player empowerment.
       

    • Implemented Vehicle-based combat, and the “Hovercraft” vehicle.
       

    • Programmed the Visual Threat Indicator Wheel and Player HUD/UI.
       

    • Designed levels utilizing the “Introduce, Practice, Twist, Master” (IPM/IPTM) methodology, to create a satisfying but challenging difficulty curve.
       

    • Menu/Splashes, UI, “Hub” map/Level Select, and Developer Debug tools.
       

  • Helped organize and update Confluence and Jira documentation to maintain our team’s Workflow, Game Design Document, Design Pillars, and Creative Vision.
     

  • Utilized Perforce as Version/Source Control software to manage the project build history, and maintained/updated the team’s Perforce Build versions.
     

  • Volunteered to create the team’s Builds, update Build Notes, and video editing for our Milestone/Sprint Review videos.
     

  • Assisted my team with troubleshooting, debugging, creating Jira “Bug” reports, and implementing fixes and QA/QoL solutions.
     

  • Collaborated with Game Artists to implement external assets (art , animation, UI, and 3D models.)

Narrative Design

Story

     In the near future, ruled over by a militaristic, oppressive regime, the only real power is control. Feeding off the oppressed masses, this regime operates with a total lack of restraint in pursuing its insidious agenda. Free from ethical constraints, they use their vast resources in pursuit of genetic advancement. By kidnapping and experimenting on the “expendable” populace, their experiments continue unabated, until their ambition and arrogance finally catch up with them.

     You are one of these experiments, a scientific breakthrough that represents the pinnacle of their ambitions. During a routine test of your abilities, the Laboratory where you are being held is attacked by an unknown faction, and in the resulting chaos, you manage to escape. Unknowingly, other experiments are also let loose

The regime has a new priority: Retrieving you, their prized asset.

     Your goal, as an escapee under constant pursuit, is to avoid capture, find out more about this mysterious faction of rebels that attacked the military base, and do whatever it takes to fight back against the oppressive regime and aid those being put under the boot-heel of their ambitions.
